At Echo’s Run Farm, we put a lot of thought into the type of chicken we wanted to raise. I chose Freedom Rangers because I wanted a chicken that could truly enjoy being a chicken—spending its days outside on pasture, scratching, foraging, and soaking up the sunshine.
Freedom Rangers grow at a more natural pace and are hardy, active birds that do really well on pasture. They’re also known for producing tender, flavorful meat, which was important to us too.
Our chickens are raised right here on the farm, with plenty of fresh air and room to roam, and are fed non-GMO feed. At the end of the day, we wanted to raise a chicken that we felt good about caring for, feeding our own family, and sharing with yours.
Our freedom rangers all free range during the day and put themselves back to bed in the coop in the evening. They always have access to their large enclosed run as well.
In the Summer they love cold watermelon as a treat. I grew this one myself!
